It was my luck to work in a B.R footwear company as an intern in the fabric and trims department as I love to do accessories. I had a very personal empowering experience at NILA, and not just academic knowledge and skills. NILA provided an excellent opportunity for me to work in Retail for my internship, as my interest is to be a Retail professional. I successfully completed my internship with Select Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. situated in Saket, Select City Walk houses many designer stores, upper premium and luxury brands.
SIPL has franchisees of many brands including U.S Polo, Sunglass Hut, Tommy Hilfiger, and Chanel. It also has its in-house store of Luxury perfumes, Perfume Couture and upper premium watches, Watch ‘N’ More. I was fortunate enough to do my internship in such a high-status mall. Every fortnight I moved from one brand to the other which gave me a splendid exposure to the working procedures of different premium retail brands. For certain duration, I even had an opportunity of working in the management office with the CEO. I gained my first hands- on experience through this internship. This not only enhanced my knowledge about retail industry but also made me confident as an individual. At NILA, apart from academics I was also imparted with the life skills which played a significant role during my internship. My internship was a wonderful journey, which has left memrobale moments and leanings for a lifetime. When I reflect back ,I find a holistic change in myself which makes me feel positive and self assured about my journey and experience at NILA.
For what I am today, I owe gratitude to NILA, its management and the faculty.
